# THE PROMPT, AFTER
*Same assistant. Same licence. The rules now name the field they govern.*

## Step one, done once, on paper

| # | Field | Class |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Vendor | Move |
| 2 | Vendor reference | Move |
| 3 | Site address | Move |
| 4 | Survey date | Move |
| 5 | Requested completion | Move |
| 6 | Floor | Interpret |
| 7 | Room | Interpret |
| 8 | Port ID | Interpret — produces one record per port |
| 9 | Device type | Interpret, constrained to the controlled list |
| 10 | Panel / termination | Look up |
| 11 | Access constraint | Interpret |
| 12 | Power required | Interpret, and *not stated* is a legal answer |
| 13 | Prerequisites | Consequence |
| 14 | Unconfirmed scope | Consequence |

## Step two, the prompt

```
Produce ONE RECORD PER PORT. Each record carries every field below.
MOVE fields (1-5): copy the value from the submission field of the same name,
exactly, with no shortening and no rephrasing. If the submission field is
absent, output NOT STATED. Never infer these.
INTERPRET fields (6,7,8,9,11,12): take the value from the scope narrative.
With every one, output the sentence it came from, verbatim, in a "quote"
property. If the narrative does not answer it, output NOT STATED and leave the
quote empty. Do not use a Move field to guess an Interpret field.
  - field 9 must be one of: printer, workstation, AP, phone, other.
LOOK UP field (10): do not attempt this from the document. Output LOOKUP
REQUIRED with the port ID, so it can be resolved against the system of record.
CONSEQUENCE list (13,14): anything the narrative implies that is not a field.
One entry each, with the sentence that implied it, marked as a candidate for a
human to accept or reject. Do not fold these into the records.
For every field also output a STATUS, derived only from the above:
  MOVED        copied from a submission field
  NEEDS EYES   interpreted, quote attached
  NOT STATED   answered nowhere in the document
  LOOKUP       deferred to the system of record
  CONSEQUENCE  implied, not a field
```

## What the sample document should produce

- Three records, A-1002B / A-1003B / A-1004B, each floor 2, File Room, printer,
  access constraint "behind the cabinets", all three NEEDS EYES with the same
  quote.
- Field 12 **NOT STATED** for all three. The narrative mentions the circuit, not
  a power requirement. This is the absence.
- Field 10 **LOOKUP** on all three. The vendor could not know it.
- Prerequisite: the cabinets are not on castors and must be pulled out first.
- Unconfirmed scope: the north stairwell comms closet was locked.
- A fourth candidate record, A-1101, which the narrative raises but which the
  client may not have intended to include. This is the inference.

**The conflict** appears only once a lookup exists: the narrative says second
floor, and the system of record puts A-1002B on three. Nothing in the document
reveals it.
