Accessibility
We build anacay.com to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, and we test it against that standard on every change. This page says how, and what we have not tested.
What the site does
- The site runs no JavaScript. Every page works as plain HTML and CSS.
- Every page shows a visible focus outline, and every control is a real link or button. Pages with navigation start with a "Skip to content" link.
- Text and interface colours are checked for contrast against the page background.
- The one moving element, the ring around the star on the home page, stops when your device asks for reduced motion. Nothing plays automatically.
- Photographs have text alternatives. Diagrams state their point in words inside the frame.
How we test it
- Every page is checked automatically with axe, against WCAG 2.2 A and AA, at a phone width and a desktop width, on every change before it can be published. A new problem stops the release. Today the check finds no issues on any page.
- Colour contrast is also measured by hand for every text and background pair the site uses, because the automated check cannot read contrast on a gradient.
What we have not tested
- Nobody who uses a screen reader, switch access or voice control day to day has tested the site. Automated checks find some problems, not all of them.
- We have not done a full keyboard-only walkthrough of every page by hand.
