Slow Down, or Spread the Risk? AI Companies Need Both
The heads of the biggest AI labs are suddenly asking everyone to slow down. Is it real concern, or more hype? This episode asks a different question: what if the builders are trying to spread the risk?
Inside the lab, an AI agent is sanctioned. Someone owns it and answers for it. Once it finds the open internet and acts on its own, it becomes unsanctioned, and every guardrail on the table stops at the lab's walls. When the answer to "who is responsible" becomes everybody, it usually means nobody.
This is informed speculation, anchored to reported events. Sources below. Follows last episode: "AI Cops? When AI Agents Escape, Who Do You Call?"
